About Us

Much can happen over tea!

Founded by husband-wife duo Jagdish and Harshikaa Udasi, Book Trotters Club is a place where the magical world of books, with its infinite learning possibilities, opens up to children. It was Harshikaa’s dream since 2000 and would’ve remained just that but for a spontaneous decision over a morning cuppa in March 2014.  BTC was kicked off with a summer workshop and there has been no looking back.

Harshikaa is a journalist and award-winning author who also loves voice artistry and storytelling. Her books for children include Kittu’s Very Mad Day, Friends Behind Walls, The Story Quilt, Maharana Pratap, and more.

Jagdish  is a finance whiz and the man who keeps the back-end systems at BTC well-oiled and running.

Both are interested in the education space and BTC was born out of the idea of encouraging children to think creatively and independently.

How do they do that? By opening up their space to books and to children, and guiding young readers through the world of words, whether through reading or writing. From Indian authors to international, from English books to bilingual books, from fantasy and fiction to autobiographies and research, they let children discover reading.

Reading that’s fun. Reading that’s enriching. Reading that’s for life.

Over the years, the summer club that started initially has taken the shape of a wide-reaching reading programme that includes school collaborations through Book Trotters Collaborative, and publishing through Book Trotters Publications.

Come, be a part of the growing Book Trotters community!

Book Trotters Club is a Book Trotters Co initiative.
